Business Valuation

Business Valuation Santa Rosa
Important business decisions often rely on proper measurement of an economic interest. At DBM, we provide business valuation services to assist clients with a variety of transactions including:

  • Mergers, acquisitions and dispositions
  • Bankruptcy and reorganization
  • Litigation and dispute resolution
  • Gift, estate, and income tax planning
  • Change in marital status
  • Strategic planning

There are two types of business valuation engagements as defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA): valuation engagements and calculation engagements. The primary difference between the two types of engagement is that in a valuation engagement, the valuation specialist is free to apply the valuation approaches (i.e. income, asset and/or market approaches), while in a calculation engagement, the valuation specialist and the client agree on the valuation approaches and methods that will be performed in estimating value, which is commonly referred to as “calculated value”.

Our business valuation specialists are here to help you evaluate your needs and help you determine which type of engagement will be most appropriate for your situation.
